dizzy from Zoloft withdrawal?

dizzy from Zoloft withdrawal?

I was 100 milligrams of Zoloft for about three years and wanted to stop the drug. I cut the pill in half and took 50 milligrams for about two weeks. After the two week period I cut the pill into quarters and took 25 milligrams for the last two weeks. I then stopped completely and have been very dizzy, light headed and suffering from a daily headache. Sometimes I find it hard to concentrate, but I am trying to cope with this as best I can. Is all of this normal after stopping Zoloft?? I am getting worried and would like to start feeling like my old self.

Those are exactly the kind of symptoms one would expect. It would be better if you had taken the lowest last dose every third day before you quit...not sure how long it had been, you can go back and do that for a week, then stop; or just tough it out now and treat the symptoms with aspirin.

Any number of symptoms are normal upon quitting any of these meds.  Everyone's tapering schedule is unique to them, since everyone reacts differently.  Some people don't get withdrawal at all, and some get really bad symptoms.  Give what I've experienced, you're not **** too badly, so you might want to tough it out at this point, but you can also go back on the Zoloft at the last dosage at which you felt fine and taper more slowly.  If you're completely off, some people report some relief from a heft dose of fish oil every day and St. John's Wort.
