doseage af adderall(adderrall) in children

What is the minimum and maximum doseage of adderall (adderrall) that should be prescribed to a 6 year old?  How many times a day can it be given?

    Adderall (adderrall) is typically started at 5 mg twice daily and titrated to a clinically helpful dose(generally not more than 20 mg twice daily).  Adderall (adderrall) has a duration of action of approximately 6 hrs which is longer than Ritalin but usually needs to be dosed twice a day.  Hope this was helpful.  Please search this forums archives for further information on Adderall (adderrall).

My girl friend's son, age 7yrs., is taking adderall (adderrall) when he gets to school in the morning. He started taking 5mg. dosage, then 10mg.dosage and started to get aggressive again, lie alot, and other things. He was then upgraded to 15mg. in the morning but so far with no good results. Is this a common thing in finding out what kind of dosage that he should take. He has seemed to developed an emmunity to the drug. We had similar problems with our 10 year old with Ritalin. It seemed that he was becomeing immune to the drug. We are switching him to ADDerall (adderrall) to see if that helps. I have a theory that we become ammune (immune) to most drugs taken over long periods of time and maybe it is best to switch. ALLWAYS CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES THOUGH!
