effexor not working anymore

effexor not working anymore

I have a long term history of depression and without going into major details, i've now been stable on 325mg daily of effexor, which i like as the anti-anxiety effect. I'm going to start taking pircetam to try and help with some of the 'labotamised' effect i've noticed recently but i'm beginning to notice that the effexor isn't working so much any more.

Anyone got any suggestions as to what meds come next?

In the past i've had Fluvoxamine (no effect) paroxetine (fine but stopped working after 18 months)   sertraline(no effect) mirtazipine (put on a stone in a week) and some others that i can't remember

Are there other SNRIs out there?

Dr. Carone has done my work for me and given you some good information, and asked the right question re psychotherapy.

One of the major reasons these medications stop working is because new things come up in your life to add tension, and then there is a breakthrough.  You can't rely on medications to "fix" you, you still have to work on the problems in your life like everyone else.

alas i do not have access to any talking therapies(UK, NHS), and what i have had access to in the past have had no effect. There has been nothing new happening in my life for some time. I have also noticed this 'stopping working' in the past with other SSRI's
