effexor xr and night sweats

I have been taking 150mg of effexor xr for about 6 weeks, and have been waking every night drenched with sweat!  One of the side effects is increased sweating, but this is rediculous!!
This dosage has taken away almost all of my anxiety problems, and I do have some lingering side effects that I can live with, but do I have to live with night sweats???

Oftentimes, to decrease the severity of the side effects of a medication, I advocate splitting the dose.

Effexor XR (extended release) was meant to be taken as a Once a day dosing for ease of compliace among patients. But initially Effexor 75 mg was in immediate release form (IR).

You may want to discuss with your psychiatrist in switching you to Effexor 75mg specify Immediate release as it also comes in extended release, 2x /day.

Hopefully with this strategy, you would experience less sweating in the evening hours.
