for the last few months ive had insomnia due to panic attacks.  At first it started in February right after i went to the hospital for my heart rate was about 130 or 140.  Later my panic attacks would be every few days then I got my heart checked out and everything was normal. But I started geting the attacks about everyday and it greatly affected my sleeping.  A few days also my panic attacks stopped but now I have no sleep.  I feel im going to go to sleep but i never fully go into rem sleep or deep sleep.  I dont know if I should get a FFi test if you could tell me if I should that would be awesome.  I really freaking out about sleep recently.

I think you have to start treating this in the most fundamental way first before you do anything else if you have panic attacks that means that you are suppressing some thoughts and feelings that you are afraid to face . either you face them on your own or you go to a therapist to help you do that. using medications to control the panic attack on a short-term basis is a good emergency method  but it is not a long-term cure.  The reason you're not sleeping is because you are afraid to think and feel in that unguarded state right before you go to sleep.

It sounds feasible that your anxiety may be what is causing your sleeplessness.

I would discuss your anxiety, etc with your doctor.  They may be able to prescribe something short-term for either anxiety or sleep.  Sometimes it can take a bit to reset a sleep pattern that has been disturbed.  It shouldn't take too long though.

Also I would recommend talking to a psychotherapist about what is making you anxious.  This is possibly the best long-term solution.

Talk to your doctor.
