lorazepam addiction

I have been taking lorazepam for a little over 7 years. Some days only 4mg, other days 6mg to 7mg. I need and want to get off of this drug, but I am scared of the withdrawal symptoms(seizures etc.) Please tell me the best way to do this, and the safest.

You must do this alongside your doctor because in order to be perfectly safe you should be covered with an anti convulsant medication when stop taking the medication. To minimize withdrawal, follow this regime....first week, cut down dose to minimum can do. Second week, use that dose every other day. Third week, same dose every third day, then stop.  You should start the anticonvulsant medication during the second week.
