masturbating when sleeping

I have recently found out I masturbate when sleeping. Usually every night, and I think I have been doing it for a while, but cannot be certain because no one has told me about it before and I have no recollection of it, even if I wake up just after doing it. I have tried putting more pjyamas on, tightly cuddling my partner, sleeping in a sleeping bag that would need 2 fastenings undoing to get in-all with no luck. I am a 22 year old girl and this is such a taboo subject I dont know where to start! Would hypnotherapy to help? I dont know what to do but it is affecting my relationship as well as social life as I cannot sleep at anyones house but my own. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you.

There is no simple solution for the problem that you have identified. Obviously one part of your mind is operating in an automatic fashion. What you described is a kind of mental reflex. The subject matter is clear. It has to do with sexual satisfaction. All that means to me that you have to explore your deeper sexual feelings and bring them into consciousness so they do not operate unconsciously and automatically in this way. The best way to do that is to talk to a therapist who can help you make this exploration.

I'm not sure.  I would recommend therapy over hypnotherapy any day.
It sounds a bit like sleep walking or night eating.  I don't know what to advise.
The doctor may be more helpful.  Or a sleeping forum expert??  Not sure.
