medication - serzone effects

I have been on serzone for about 1.5 years primarily for anxiety.  The medication has, for the most part, worked well.  My doctor has just informed me that there are some cases (in Canada) of severe pancreatic damage with the use of serzone and will be taking me off this medication in the near future.  Have you heard of this  dangerous side effect and it is a cause for major concern?  I have tried several medications before and serzone has been the most effective.  I would appreciate your comments on this.

My colleagues have heard about this but do not have the details.Apparently your doctor does and you are very fortunate to have such an alert and conscientious doctor. I recommend you discuss this with him  and ask how this applies to you specifically, what are the odds of it happening, and what are the risks and what are the newer alternative medications.  then you and he can make an informed decision.
