my own smell sickens me

my own smell sickens me

I am having a problem with hypersensitive smell.  I have always had this, and can identify people by their smell as easily as sight or hearing.  This was a big problem in childhood as sometimes my own family would make me feel sick because I could smell their odour so strongly.  It doesn't matter how clean the person is or even if they wear perfume, I still smell them.  This fortunately declined a bit with age but has returned recently, in that I now am constantly aware of my own smell.  Sometimes I wake in the night dreaming of a foul odour, and realise I am inhaling my own odour.  I can smell my breath and body and find the smell very unpleasant.  I wash normally and don't have body odour, just the normal human smell.  Is this an early sign of insanity?  I live alone so don't have other people in my home, and now am just reacting to myself.  I find public transport unpleasant to use, and cannot even sit comfortably next to people in cinemas etc. Kissing/intimacy is great until the odour hits me and then I have to just tolerate it.  Can it be that I just don' t like people?  I am like some human dog.  Wish my other senses were blessed with such acuity.  Actually I have abnormally good hearing too, and have to wear ear plugs in clubs and even cinemas.  My sight is quite poor.  I have no mental health issues that I know of just this odd problem.  Any ideas?

NO, this is not a sign of insanty, but is what you already say it is, an inborn extreme sensitivity and acuity. The only specialists who might be able to help you would be a neurologist or an ent doctor.
