newby is here...please help

Hi everyone!
I am new to this site ... and wonder if you can answer
couple of questions for me. Is anyone in Los Angeles
know a good psychiatrist specializing in anxiety and
panic disorders? My doc gave me an option of taking
Paxil or Laxapro... from  your experience, which one
has less side effects and more helpful? Have you heard
of the treatment program called MAP-3 to treat panic
disorders? Have anyone tried acupuncture to treat conditions listed above?

I would recommend the ucla anxiety and panic clinic at the neurpsychiatric institute in westwood.  Many years ago I was the head of the outpatient department there, and since then they have continued to be a leader in this area.  

Both of those medications are equally useful, but counseling and a specialized assessment at ucla could lead to other treatment.
