remeron

I can locate very little evidence of remeron's more possible subtle effects.  How have folks responded to it on an outpatient basis?  Any experience with remeron will be welcome here.  I am about to begin an rx with it, for major depressive feelings, founded within the Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome model.

   Remeron, an antidepressant in its own class, has been shown in clinical studies to be effective in the treatment of depression.  In general all antidepressants are felt to be equally effective but not all individuals respond to the same ones and several trials may be needed.  The side effects are what distinguish most antidepressant by class.  Remeron is usually a well tolerated medication with some sedation, increased appetite and minimal to no sexual dysfunction associated with it.

After trying remeron my appetite almost immediately exploded! I was not aware of this side affect in some people and I was reallly worried. I told my Dr. and he informed me about this unfortunate affect on some people. Needless to say we dropped remeron like a hot potato.
