Liesel,

Serotonin syndrome has been discussed several times in this forum.  I will direst you to search this forums archive using serotonin syndrome as a keyword.  It is essentially a situation in which too much serotonin gets into your system and you manifest physical symptoms as a result.
Imitrex is a medication that also works on the serotonin system like the SSRI's.  It is recommended that these drugs be used carefully in combination as they have been rarely reported to cause weakness, increased reflexes and in coordination.  I suggest that you discuss this issue further with your physician.
Hope this was helpful.

Sincerely,

HFHS MD-JM

My sister went into a coma and had a stroke from Paxil Seratonin Syndrome.  Can you tell me the long term outlook for a patient like this?  Is there likely to be long-term damage?  Is the prognosis for a full recovery good?
