seroxat

hello doc
i want to ask a direct question i got my blood work and i found out i have high sgpt and sgot i am taking seroxat for 6 months is this the cause can seroxat higher sgpt and sgot
P.S i did all types for hepatitis and all are negative

Hello.

Seroxat is metabolized in Liver and it is known to result in abnormal liver enzyme values. That answers your question partly. However, I can not comment on if Seroxat is actually the cause for your abnormal liver enzyme values. You will need to rule out other causes for liver inflammation, including any other medicines you might be taking.

There are a few reports of lowered platelet counts with Seroxat treatment, but most of them are case reports. Most controlled trials have failed to prove an association between Seroxat treatment and platelet counts.

i had done the test to hepatitis and all are negative :)
one more question please does seroxat also lower platelet count ?
im searching the web and it also suggest that is it normal
my platelet count is still within range but it became lower than the last time i had a test

I would have to say yes to that. If you do not have any symptoms that suggest hepatitis, it is most probably due to Seroxat.

i am taking to other medicine only seroxat and my sgpt is 79 level 45
i called my doctor he said it is from seroxat so shall i make my head to rest ?
