severe itching

Hello,
You have been very helpful with questions before.  I have been on 25 mgs of Zoloft since Jan.  Very helpful.  But lately have developed all these symptoms, which are weird, and I am wondering if they could be related to the medicine building up in my system.  They are:  severe  burning and itching of my hands.  No rash, although I do have carpal tunnel and have numbness and tingling upon awakening.  Other symptoms: extreme heat intolerance.  Any little exertion makes me break out in a fine sweat on forehead and back.  Sleep with fan on all nite.  Constant waking every 2 hours.  Takes almost hour to get back to sleep.  Never had this before. Woke up last week with extreme dizziness, incredible.   No menses since February.  Always very regular.  Quite a lot of joint pains.  The thing that bothers me the most is the itching hands.  Otherwise, healthy, 47 y.o. female, no smoking, no drinking.  Any advice?  Thank you.

All of these symptoms have been assosiated with this class of medications..though not usually at such a small dose.  I would think seriously of stopping the medication and switching to something else; or seeing your family doctor for the symptoms if you think they might be something else...they don't sound like an common organic problems to be worried about...but be safe if you are concerned.

I also agree with the Dr...But just to be on the safe side, I would go to your family phsyician and get checked..I have AIH (autoimmune hepatitis) and I would always itch, plus have a lot of joint pain..If they do a complete panel of blood work and check your liver enzymes they will know for sure..Better safe than sorry!!Take Care & Let us know how you make out!!!!!
