Hi Doctor,

I noticed that you have a website called www.masteringstress.com.  How Does that work?  I've been so depressed lately and I don't know where to turn.  I've been seeing a therapist for long time but I don't know if it works.  I just started Wellbutrin today as well.  I need help badly.

Hi Kara,

I actually started Wellbutrin today and I was wondering how you felt while you were on it and if you could tell me what it's like.

Also, do you have any health insurance that would cover some of the cost to see a therapist or counselor?  There got to be a way that you could see someone, it can really help.  They can be so expensive!

Thanks,
Melanie

hey, I think the situation youre going through is more of an insecure one. My guess is that most of your worries is about your boyfriend possibly doing hurtful things when youre not around( like cheating). These thoughts are hard to deal with, but trust is the main thing, you can say you trust him, but think do you really? As for this feeling after sex it is an emotional expierence, but I dont think thats it, its more of a matter of commitment and trust. Youre giving yourself to him and you want the same in return adn when he leaves you probely dont feel that. Just have him reassure you before he lives whenever you have sex again that he loves you. And stare into his eyes and make sure he does the same a persons eyes tell their whole story, good luck

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Kara, first of all, when you switch medications it should always be under the supervision of a physician. It is an easy switch to make and sometimes the medication are given concurrently.

Your loneliness shows about after sex but is probably there right below the surface and shows itself also in your worries and concerns about how strained relationships may become.

You should do more than just take medications.  You should look into yourself and work on these issues either through counseling, or as I have suggested to others, work on this yourself through the www.masteringstress.com program that I have created to help people think through problems, step by step, and then either work them out themselves, or get counseling help.

I currently work at a music store and i'm learing the trade of repairing instruments.  I'm also working on a degree in Computer Information Tech.  I get so nervous about school that I can't even study sometimes, I am trying to find a therapist that I can afford, but most of them are always really high..

I have taken wellbutrin for over 6 months but i could not sleep
when taking the afternoon dose, so i just took the morning dose.
It gave me energy that I have not had in a long time.  The Celexa I just started 3 weeks ago has calmed me from being angry and I appear to be more negotiable in arguments and Happier! It has worked for me to take it at noon. 1/2 of 10mg. makes me less edgy.  I bought a few books on depression and self improvement.  I learned alot from reading these although i didn't understand or relate to everything in it.  You need to get a hobby or a responsiblity that will make you interested and drive you to a Goal, make it very small at first, like giving clothes to needy people or working a concession stand for a ball team or taking a class at the local college, just for fun.  Then grow from there.
If you can, get a therapist to help you work through this.  You can do it.

Hi Kara,

Perhaps its because sex can be a highly emotional experience for people.. hence, it really affects you.  Perhaps you can choose to have sex only when you know he is going to stay with you afterwards to reassure you?  Good luck
love,
Peggy
