zoloft and anxiety

zoloft and anxiety

i have been on zoloft for going on two weeks.  i upped the dose from week one to two by 50mg (50 to 100mg).  with this increase i have found my anxiety has increased dramatically.  also i checked my blood pressure and it was very high (148/100).  is this normal while the body becomes accustomed to zoloft and does blood pressure return to relatively normal after stabilization.

p.s. the reason im not able to ask my doctor this question is that i got my meds from a mental health e.r. and dont have my intake for another two weeks (no insurance so going through county). any help would be greatly appreciated.

you are obviously busy treating yourself by changing your dosage without supervision of a doctor.  I understand why you're doing it but it is basically a bad idea.  Zola and had a stimulant effect and that can increase your anxiety and your blood pressure.  Instead of increasing the dose you should be decreasing those and figuring out what makes you depressed rather than relying on medications alone.
