zoloft tapering

Any research on upset stomach, gi system, when off zoloft?  After 16 yrs on Zoloft, 12 yrs Zoloft w/Gabitril, I felt over medicated.  Weaned off Gabitril, over period of 6 months, and no trouble sleeping through the night, or other anxiety.  Felt much better, since Gabitril made me physically tired, and mind was 'foggy', as my Dr. stated.
Recently weaned off zoloft, simply stopping.  No side effects of depression, though tremendous stomach upset prompted me to go back on, after being off for 3 weeks.

The benefits of controlling anxiety w/zoloft, from upset stomach, may outweigh my reason for stopping - that I did not suffer depression by going off the drug.

*After weaning off the gabitril, due to feeling groggy in the mornings, after use for 12 years, I discovered that the gabitril masked the effects of being on too much thyroid medicine.  I felt 'hyper', and blood work showed need to decrease from 2.0mcg synthroid, to 1.5mcg.

Now, I am not suffering from depression, though tremendous stomach pain, bloating, most likely from financial stress, though possibly from detox off Gabitril, due to changes from being on this drug for over 12 years?  (according to Chiropractor, that I have seen for over 5 yrs.

Any suggestions?  other than maybe getting back on the gabitril?

I really want to avoid this drug, since I feel 'drugged'.

it sounds to me like your problemis caused by the fact that you went off Zoloft too abruptly.  I suggest you go back on your regular dose andslowly go off of it over a three-week period .that will probably solve the problem.

I am weaning off Zoloft now and I don't have any stomach problems. I don't know of any research but did you wean off it or just stop. When Ive stopped for a bit I got nauseous but never stomach pain. i'd talk with your doctor.
