I agree with the rest of the comments. You are most likely just going through teenage hormonal changes. You didn't mention if you were a boy or girl. If you are a girl, then your hormones (as a growing young lady) can cause these depressive feelings a little more than with boys. I suggests that you talk to your parents or a trusted adult like an aunt, uncle or school nurse or counselor. Whoever you see as a trusting person. We say 'trust' meaning that this person who you decide to talk to would be mature enough to help guide you and help you get further help. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with going to see a professional (doctor, counselor, psychiatrist) they are there to help you be the best that you can be.
Here are some great sites for teens. One is for overall health and the other is fun stuff to do when you're feeling down or bored. I hope you will check them out AND talk to someone outside of the internet (a parent, counselor...etc) so that you can find out for yourself what you are going through and why. Good luck!

Sweetie, the most important thing is to talk to people that can REALLY help you. You are a minor. Who can really help you? Your parents or a trusted adult. Please please talk to them. You can then get some true help in the forum of a therapist or whatever you may need. Self harming is very dangerous even if it starts out 'not wanting to kill oneself'. Very important to get a handle on this. You listed symptoms of depression but only a psychologist or doctor can diagnose you.
You have to trust an adult in your life and let the know about what is going on. peace and luck
I just found out that I'm Bi-Polar II, I went through the same thing your going threw... have you seeked professional help... have you talked to family, friends, teacher? Someone you can trust? Finally I'm getting the help I need, you can too!!!
Hi, Well there can be some reasons u feel like that, Ur 16 sometimes as our bodies still develop we can have mood swings because our hormones are all over the place, so it can cause us depression at times, we can feel angry mad sad emotional.. yes I bet going out helps a lil to get ur mind off things, But then again I don't know where ur coming from, but maybe u suffer when u were a child like parents divorce or stuff like that, and it can cause those feelings.. But then again im just assuming.. I don't know exactly whats bothering you.. Ur young try not letting this get to you and please try not hurting ur self.. I know is hard to not think about it, but is possible.. Hey just try to relax and maybe talk to a close friend or ur parents, if not well u can always come here and there are great people here that can help.. Don't let depression get to you u have a full life ahead of you..
It could be a number of things depression is one of them. It could your hormones, anxiety or number of other things. Have talked to your parents about how your feeling have you thought about talking to your doctor. There are better ways to handle the anger and frustration you feel other then cutting yourself. Telling them that your angry and frustrated with them or with whatever they did. Hope this helps.
