52 hours no Effexor XR & no w/d's

Hello, i count my blessings i feel so good atm, i decided to stop my Effexor 2 days ago. No brain zaps or confusion, nothing. I tapered very quickly from 225mg to 37.5mg in 12 days, then stayed on 37.5mg for around 9-10 weeks. I have been so lethargic and sick with sore bones almost daily for the whole 9-10 weeks. Within 32 hours of stopping, my energy came back, my mood lifted, i feel focused more than i have in a very long time. More importantly, ive stopped craving sweets !!! I woke with a migraine today, but its gone now. Im guessing withdrawals are still to come, but i dont care, i have to stop this medication. I take a potent omega 3 supp daily with a mega B supp and a vit d with calcium supp. Im hoping this is why i feel so ok at the moment. Is it usual for withdrawals to start after 51 hours of stopping Effexor XR??? Yes, we are all different, but last time the w/d's hit me 3 hours of not taking my dose. Thanks for listening. Amanda

Hi..just saw your blog...I'm tapering off Effexor as well after years of being on 150mg.  After almost 3 weeks, today is my first "free" day from Effexor, but I've tapered off with Prozac which has made the transition easier.  However, this is the first day I feel "bad".  How are you doing?

Hey Paxiled, i didnt quite get withdrawals, they were on verge, but never came. Ive never been happier or had more energy in a long time. The zaps were only 2-3 a day. But they were hardly noticible. Im glad i jumped because i was so sick on my taper. But i didnt realise i would have an easy time completely jumping, but the same thing happened when i was on maintenance Subutex, i was so sick on my taper and jumped with no withdrawals. Anyway, now i can move forward with my life, im so happy these days and can function like a proper human.  Thanks again.

You know you did this wrong.  If it gets too hard for you to handle, see your psychiatrist and do it slowly and correctly to prevent long-term problems.  If it goes easily, then, lucky you.
