Allergic to Anti-Depressants

I have  been suffering from Depression and Anxiety for the past 20 years. I have had therapy, biofeedback, and have tryed every anti-depressant from A to Z.  Everytime I have tryed a different anti-depressant I have really bad reactions to the medication. My throat closes up, my tongue swells up, my eyes feel like they are going to explode, my blood pressure drops, I get really bad headaches, and I feel real weak and all my joints start to hurt. Along with parts of my body going numb. One doctor told me to stick it out, but by the third day I felt so bad I couldn't even get out of bed. So he finely told me to stop the medication (Paxil). This happens no matter what anti-depressant I take. Right now the doctors have me on Xanax. It helps with the anxiety, but not the depression. I feel like I am the only person in the world that has these bad reactions to anti-depressants. Everyone that I know who takes anti-depressants have SLIGHT reactions like tiredness, or alittle dizziness but nothing like I experience. I have talk to a number of doctors in the past twenty years and not one had a answer to my " allergic reactions".  If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU.

I have tryed a couple of Tricyclic antidepressants, Elavil, Clomipramine,Doxepin,Pamelor and a few others. I had the same bad reactions on them along with hallucinations and a very slow heart beat. I've been to two hospitals and eight doctors and they are all STUMPED. I had one doctor "GUARANTEE" me that Wellbutin would not cause any bad reactions. I managed to take it for three months, but I had the worse headaches that I ever had in my life. The doctor agreed that it wasn't working and slowly took me off it. I don't think they make a antidepressant that I can take without having the bad reactions. God knows I've tryed. But I am opened to any ideas or suggestions.

I am also allergic to antidepressants I have depression and severe cripling anxiety at time and I have tried multiple anitdepressants, and the SSRI and SRNI are the worst they increase my anxiety to the point i just want to scream and i get the feeling my whole body is on fire. So finally they just put me on an anti anxiety med Klonopin, which can cause depression and make you a little sleepy but it helps the anxiety. I have been bounced from dr to dr trying to give me meds even after i told them i am allergic, so finally I have found myself a great psych dr. and they have me on the Klon.. when its really bad and I am on a ADD med Adderall (adderrall) (stimulant) medication which helps some with the anxiety and depression. But there are days where it doesnt work.. and I have to take the anxiety med Klon.. But that is mostly at night becaue that is when my anxiety gets bad... I hope I can help some..
