Alternative to Remeron?

Hello.

First time asking a question, and I'd be grateful for a response. I'm an overweight individual, and I've recently been placed in the hospital for a suicide attempt. While I was there, the doctor put me on Ambien and then Trazodone for my problems when I try to sleep (those problems being racing thoughts, almost like a sort of mania). Eventually, he put me on Remeron, and it works beautifuly. However, I noticed that one of the side effects is increased appetite. Is there an alternative medication (other than the three mentioned above) that I can take that will help me sleep, but not cause more weight gain?

Thank you!

Thanks for the reply, Craig. ;-) A reply is still a reply. A few months after my post, I was put back on to Seroquel and 1mg of Valium.

Trazadone is non-narcotic.  I just came across this forum.  As a result, I am over three years late.
