Anhedonia

by rfg2008, Dec 29, 2008 11:37PM
Hi there,

My mom suffers from Anhedonia. Her life hasn't being easy; she has experienced many traumatic events in her life includig a traumatic divorce. She had a depression shock a couple of years ago where she lost concience of herself for almost 3 days. She was taken Taffil for a couple of years but her symtomps haven't improved. It really breaks my heart to see her like that. She lives alone, she is 64. She would be a grandmother soon and even this news hasn't make her feel happy 100%. I would greatly appreciate if someone can tell me if there is any drug in the market that has proved to be effective for people affected by Anhedonia.

Thanks in advance.

Well if you don't mind me asking is she on any meds now? Im not anhedonia, but I have been diagnosed clinically depressed bipolar. I take lexapro and adderall (adderrall). Adderall (adderrall) is a very slippery slope but it works. Has anyone every talked about adderall (adderrall) as a possibility with an antidepressant?
Im not sure if you know what it is but its basically speed in monitored dosages. I mean it is an amphetamine.... It is a class c drug and you have to get a prescription every month from your doctor. It is monitored (like all drugs) but because a lot of people abuse this drug to make meth.
Ok well enough with trying to scare you. I am a 23 year old female who takes it as prescribed and it has helped a TON. For the first few months I did lose some weight, but nothing serious. I am a college student and I also work full time in a hospital as a surgeon/physicians assistant so I don't have time to be anti social or rude,,  lol

Sorry I rambled on but im on 3rd shift and its pretty quiet.
