Bad days while on Lexapro

Bad days while on Lexapro

Hello,
I've been on Lexapro for about 2 months now and I have to admit that is has helped a lot with my anxiety and depersonalization/derealization. I would say that i'm about 95% back to my old self, almost at 100%. Still a little detached and spacey. My question is, is it normal to still have anxious days while on Lexapro? I just don't want to get cought in the cycle I was before I started the medication. Thanks.

Hi!  Have you seen your prescribing doctor since starting the Lexapro?  They normally start you out on a low dosage and then want to see you in 6-8 weeks to see how you are doing.  It is at this time they decide if you need an increase in your dosage, or a change. I would call your doctor and ask about this, and go from there. This may be a side effect of the medication which may subside, if not your doctor may want to switch you to another one. He always needs to know how you are doing and if you are having any side effects to the medication. Often an anxiety medication will be added to help with the anxiety, this is very common.  I take both myself.  Medications are a big help to those of us suffering with this, and sometimes it takes a bit to get the right med or combination of medications, but it's well worth it!  Talk to your doctor, we've all been thru this and certainly understand, so know you're not alone.  We're always here for you, take care.
