Natural remedies aren't nearly as strong as drugs. That usually means fewer side effects and safer use, though not always, but natural remedies are basically digested by the body whereas drugs are engineered to make the body act in an unnatural manner. Generally, natural medicine doesn't use just one remedy, it goes for a holistic approach, but in truth the only way to tell if it will work is to try it. The problem is, you can't just quit the drug the way you usually can a natural remedy; it has to be tapered off of slowly. That drug, by the way, usually a stimulating antidepressant, so the fact your husband gets tired afterward just goes to show how everyone reacts differently to things and how impossible it is to predict results.
