Can Effexor Suddenly be Making Me Feel Like This?

I've been on Effexor since last March with very few side effects (aside from gaining close to 30 lbs).  For the last 3 weeks now I have suddenly become very depressed and suicidal.  Now since last Saturday I've been really, really dizzy and totally out of it, I can't even drive myself to work and all I want to do is sleep.  I get sharp headaches  and my memory is shot.  I'm also nauseous and dry heaving.  Last night I had the worst nightmares I have ever had in my life and woke up screaming 3 times, shaking and out of breath.  Today my left eye is twitchy and I'm really cold, also still shaking... The worst thing is that I cant think clearly, my head feels all floaty, and I feel like I'm going to pass out.  

The only change that has happend in my daily routine is that last Friday I went out to a bar with some coworkers and had 3 beers.  I've drank a few times before on my Effexor and have never had any after effects like this.  If anyone knows what on earth might be going on please let me know.  I'm starting to get scared and dont know it i should head to urgent care or what, I just moved to a new town so I don't have a health care team set up for me yet.

It's less likely that those that feel OK on meds will post to say how well they feel. Benefits must be paid for by the unwanted side - effects. Having been on all kinds of meds for over 20 yrs I decided that in spite of the rotten side effects I need the meds to function. When I came off them I have always quickly relapsed & required stays in Psychiatric hospitals. It's necessary to seek help from someone you can get along with & be honest with. If not, change your Doc/Psych/Therapist or whatever. Wish you luck, try to stay positive ~ am sure you already know how essential that is.

The only time I ever felt ill like that while on the Effexor is when I missed a dose or was late taking a dose.  Say I took it at 8am daily and forgot, by noon I was really sick.  Even if I took it late, I still felt ill.  This medication is nothing to mess with.  I am now off it and had terrible withdraw symptoms.  You should search Effexor and Venlafaxine symptoms and withdraws on here & google.  You will be surprised at how many people have had awful side effects & withdraw symptoms.  If this medication is making you feel ill and have these other side effects to the point you can not even drive, talk to your doctor.  There are 500 other medications they can try you on.  (I have learned...do your own research on any/all med's you are taking)  My doctor had never heard of the symptoms I was having, because he was not informed by the makers themselves.
