Can any one please help my Wife

by Stevegold, Sep 19, 2009 04:21PM
Hi, my wife has been suffering form a lack of serotonin for about 9 months now with bad anxiety attacks which affect her breathing, It has changed her and her life for the worse, she has been on anti depressants (RSS) since it started
She really can not come to terms with this condition and will not talk to me about it much, on the other hand she is happy to talk to some one on here if they have the same condition as they could relate with her.

If there is anyone out there with simular condition I would be so grateful if you could take some time to have a chat with my wife on here, I think it would help so much

Thanks

Your a kind and caring husband.
Yes, many of us here suffer with depression and anxiety and would be very happy to talk to your wife.
What medication is she taking? Some are more stimulating than others and can make anxiety worse. If her depression is doing better on this med she may want to continue taking it but add an antianxiety med. Only your wife and her Dr can decide on this.
I hope she does come to this site because there are so many wonderful caring people here. Take care. Remar

Often times effectivly treating major depression and anxiety dissorder is not a "one med" solution, but rather takes a combination of meds to get relief.

Also as the other person said, "some antidepressants are more stimulating than others"
and she could be on the wrong antidepresssant.

Or it could just be a dosage issue, or any number of factors.
