Chemists attitude

I have been doing fine, better than fine actually.  Really good!!  Working taking care of my kids + other peoples kids as well!

When I went to get my latest box of Cymbalta, I was buying my husbands Aspirin as well.  Thank fully I dont really need any other medications and am in good health.

The Chemist (pharmacist) put the two boxes on the counter, then snatched them to her chest ( as if I was trying to grab them) and said "ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE THESE TOGETHER"  I said 'no, the aspirin are for my husband"  She looked shocked (maybe that a basket case like me actualy had a husband)  and proceeded to tell me as if I was a naughty child that I was NOT TO take them together.  In a crowded shop.  I was shocked

This is the first time I have ever been treated like a 'mental case'.  Much worse things have happened to me in my life, but somehow this really got to me.

People are Bad, that is all I can say.............

I know what you mean!!!  I was in the supermarket a few months back.  I'd picked up 2 packs of paracetamol (total of 16 tablets) and a bottle of childrens paracetamol liquid.  They informed me I couldn't have that much paracetamol in one go.  I explained I lived a long way from the supermarket but they refused.  It is apparently against guidlines to let anyone have more than 2 items containing pain killers.

It wasn't so much the guidelines that bothered me but like you it was the attitude.  I ended up getting really cross (and making a fool out of myself).

Like LCC it may be worth you speaking to the superior.

I know it's the duty of Pharmacists my Canada to advise you of the possible clashes of te meds. It's a requirement. I can't take aspirin or ibuiprofen for my bad back, so I buy Aceteminophen with codeine when my back is bad. I get told the same side effects each time. I would think that it was probably an over zealous chemist, but the reaction was very unprofessional, I would speak to the superior of that Chemist.
