Depression after oxycontin use

by JuicyJay, May 16, 2009 09:14PM
So I went about 25 straight days doing either 20mg of oxycontin or a 10 mg percoset and I decided to stop before it got too serious. I actually went through some minor withdrawals but nothing I couldn't handle. The problem is, I've been depressed everyday for about a week now. Can anyone tell me how long this will last and what I can do to help it get better? Also, is this normal?

You were high for 25 days and abusing a drug, what you're feeling is going to happen. Withdrawals can last a while the drug imbeds in your brain  especially in your mood center. and depression can be expected. I would go to your family doctor and get screened for depression, most addicts self-medicate and you are lucky you've had the will power to quit now. I do suggest you go to NAA as well, it's not as important how long you abused, but for the fact you did, which shows there is an issue.
Get on the right track and get agressive with depression issues, you'll feel better soon :)
