I have a girlfriend that iv been dating for a year and a half.. And everything was awesome until about 2-3months ago.. I know she suffered from depression before we started but everything was dandy and we he hit it off really well. But lately we just cant seem to do anything and she hits a slump. When we out with people everything seems fine but when we alone its so bad i mean we cant even string together a conversation without getting at each others throats. Lately she has been sending me depression pictures and in a way it disturbs me. I have no more solutions feels like i cant get her right again. Iv told her to seek professional help but she refuses.. she says she doesnt want to go to someone who is going to tell her she depressed already. she has bought medication like calm meds which helps now and then.
You can't help someone who doesn't want help. She needs therapy, badly, but you can't do that for her. All you can do is support her if she'll accept it and not judge, but the onus isn't yours, it's hers. Keep encouraging her to get help and if she doesn't want to, you have to think about bailing -- you're not married, you don't have kids, so you're not stuck.
