Just wonder if Cymbalta causes weight gain and what are the effects of tapering off?

I do not have any weight gain at all on this drug one year.

It is hard to get off but with correct tapering it can be done

I have been on it for over 2 years with no weight gain.  My weight has remained stable, but I notice that no matter what I do, I don't lose weight either.

I'm about 20 pounds over my "ideal" weight, according to the charts, and even though I'm muscular, I still have more tummy fat than is healthy.

Cymbalta has been a good choice for me since I also have a lot of pain.  I've looked at the side effects and weight gain doesn't seem to be an issue in most cases.  Hope this helps you.
