I had been on 300 mgs of effexorEffexor Effexor xr xr for about a year. It wasn't working. My Doc switched me to cymbaltaCymbalta starting with a low dose and advising me to withdrawal from the effexorEffexor Effexor xr on a weekly basis, reducing the mgs of the drug 37.5mgs per week.
Two weeks ago my vision got really bad. I was driving at night and realized I couldn't see the road signs, much less the street signs. My reading sight does not seem to be impacted, only my long distance vision.
I am currently on 75mgs per day and 6- mgs of the CymbaltaCymbalta. When I called my psychiatrist, she said to stop reducing the effexor, stay on both drugs until my appointment January 3.
Do as the psychiatrist says - stop reducing the Effexor and stay on both drugs until your appointment. I expect (and hope) that the reduction of Effexor has just been too fast.
