Effexor to 'Wellbutrin to Lexapro, Sex drive still zero

Okay, My question is would being on wellbutrin with lexapro be better for me sexually than being on effexor and wellbutrin?  I was on Effexor and Zoloft for about 7 yrs.  I weaned myself off of Zololft about a year ago and weaned back to 75 mg of effexor from 150mg.  I wanted to come completely off of Effexor because of the sexual side effects and because i wanted to be off of antidepressants so my doctor started me on wellbutrin and had me quit Effexor abruptly the next day.  I began on 150mg Wellbutrin and after a week increased to 300mg per day.  After about a week on the 300mg of Wellbutrin I begain having anxiety in the evening after the Wellbutrin wore off and my muscles were stiff and tense and painful.  Do you know how much of this was caused by going off of the Effexor and if any of this was caused by the Wellbutrin?  When I called my doctor he told me to completely quit taking the wellbutrin but I told him I was having more energy so he cut me to 150mg per day and added 10 mg Lexapro.  I'm confused.  The only reason I want to quit the antidepressant is because of the expense but more because of having absolutely NO LIBIDO.  Can't I ever just be off of this stuff??  My sex life has suffered greatly due to these drugs.

Unfortunatly Lexapro has about the same chance of causing you sexual side effects as Effexor did.

My advice would be to keep the Lexapro dosage low if you can. See if you can get by with 10Mgs or less per day. The Welbuterin is not known to cause any sexual side effects so that part shouldn't be an issue.

There are some people can eventually get off all medications with no worry about a return of their depression or anxiety. Unfortunatly in many cases Depression is a life long dissorder that must be continually managed with Medication and therapy for life.

The good news if that within the next 5 to 10 years there will be a host of new AD medications that are just as effective and do not cause sexual side effects.
