EffexorXR

I have been taking EffexorXR for 7 years. I am currently trying to ween off of it. I went from 150mg to 75mg, then from 75mg to 37.5. I am now trying the 37.5 every other day and I am just now starting to notice that my face is becoming numb and tingly and when I turn to quickly, I become very dizzy and nauseated. Is there another way to ween off of this to reduce side effects of it? Thanks.

I am not writing to give you any advice but to get advice from you.  Two weeks I had to see a Doctor who didn't prescribe the Effexor for me.  I told her what weird things I was doing and had been in a fog for a 1 1/2 years but it was just becoming  noticeable.  I really wasn't 'with it'.  She asked me wat medications I was on and when I told her 225mg of Effexor she just about fell off her chair.  I have been on antidepressants for 11 years. I was not put on them because of Bipolor, I was losing my mother, I had come through a very nasty divorce and my doctor at the time decided I was depressed and gave me Luvox, then Zoloft and then Effexor by another doc.  I am a very upbeat, happy, person until the last two years.  The time had come to get off the antidepressants.  I am down to 150mg. until July 30, then it will be 75 mg.
Is your head buzzing??? I came off the medication a few years ago for a year and I am so upset with myself that I went back on it because a man had broken my heart!!!!!!I remember by head buzzing but not any numbness.  The doctor told me it would take a year and to do it VERY slowly as I believe you are well aware of.  Maybe a pharmacist could give you some information about this. Keep me posted and I will do the same.  Why are you coming off them? Same reason as me.......................IT IS TIME??
