Ending Paxil

by Ausguy, Oct 06, 2008 01:25PM
Hello everybody, I have been taking Paxil for less than a month, I took it for a bout a week and a half, stopped, talked to the doctor and started again, Last week I decided to discontinue it again. I have taken about a total of 25 Paxil 20mg tables with about a 4 day break where I didn't take any in between my stop and start.

Since I have stopped it again, is it likely that I am going to see any withdrawel symptoms? I went about a week with none, but yesterday I got some tingling in my arms and hands and felt a little off colour, which continues today. Is this Paxil withdrawal mabye? Have I been taking it long enough to be "hooked"

You won't have to worry about getting hooked, as Paxil (Paroxotine) is not a controled substance.

Will you get any discontinuation side effects by stopping at this point? Maybe a little, but probably not much as it would take a lot more time for your body to adjust to the medication before any withdrawl symtoms would be an issue.

You may feel a bit light headed for a few weeks or so. Other than that, probably not much from such a short usage.
