Feel like a burden and helping to overcome depression

Hello, my name is Charlotte and I'm 17 years old, I've had depression since I was 14/15 after a major life event caused my life to turn upside down. At the moment, I'm feeling like such a burden, I've started to open up to one person at my school, and now I feel like I've said too much and relied on this person, I've only spoken to this person 4 times 5 times since October, I know it seems like a lot but they were brief conversations. Today, I spoke to her and opened up a little more, I feel really guilty and bad, because I don't think she deserves to hear it.

As well as this, I feel that these people at school such as teachers and pupils do not like me, however I haven't done anything, could this just be over-analytical behaviour and low self esteem being the cause?

Finally, does anyone have any natural remedies or anything in which they do to help resolve this depression for good, I've tried counselling and therapy but in all honesty talking makes everything worse, I want to steer clear of Anti-Depressants, I was on them for 2 days and they gave me a lot of side effects which were worse than the depression itself.

Overall the depression symptoms are a general feeling of emptiness, pessimism, no 'get-up-and-go', sadness, worry and a feeling like I'm always living in my head. The depression seems to lift when I am around people and at ease, for example I can have a laugh in lessons and at school is when I feel the best when I am comfortable around people. I really really do not want this to last forever. Please if anyone has any suggestions I will be so so greatful. Thank you! :)

Depression is never easy to deal with for anyone who suffers from it.I have found that distraction and focus on things you enjoy doing are good tools for coping, however you need motivation to be able to perform these activities. It's good to talk to people and open up.Nothing wrong with that at all.If you are going to take meds you really need to find the right meds for you and the depression. They can help if you find the right ones. This won't last forever and a great saying is ''it will pass''.Hang in there and you will see that the situation will improve. All the best.
