I just caved in and decided to try an antidepressant after swearing them off for a year. I've taken Celexa before, but it didn't make me feel like it is this time. My usual problem with any SSRI has been serious anxiety. But this time it's different.
I took 10mg Sunday afternoon after filling my rx and had a really hard time sleeping even with 150mg of TrazodoneTrazodone Trazodone hydrochloride in addition. I usually only take 50mg of trazodoneTrazodone Trazodone hydrochloride and it works fine. I woke up with a bad headache. I had to drive 1-1/2 hours away and felt like I was drugged about 40 minutes after my dose of Celexa. That feeling lasted all day and I was wiped out when I got home and felt nauseous and tense. I couldn't sleep again with just the TrazodoneTrazodone Trazodone hydrochloride so I took 5mg of ambienAmbien Ambien cr. I woke up with a headache again and felt like a wet noodle. I've been in bed almost all day and have had crying spells come on over nothing. This has me puzzled and a little scared.
My pdoc told me to call if it made me sick, but I don't really know if this qualifies as that. All I know is I feel awful. I take neurontin 1800mg a day, 50mg Trazodone ( usually ), and was taking ibuprofen 800 x 3 daily. I quit using the ibuprofen and switched to tylenol after reading the insert with the celexa, but it indicated that using it concurrently with trazodone can be problematic too. Has anyone had a reaction similar to mine? I can't see the point of adding another drug to my current list if it's not going to make me feel better. And the headache is coming back now that the Tylenol is wearing off.
