Yes, diet is very important to how we feel.  Sometimes it can be what you eat -- some people's emotional problems are traced directly to food sensitivities, especially wheat and dairy -- and sometimes what you don't eat, for example not getting enough protein to supply the amino acids that nourish your neurotransmitters, or not getting enough B vitamins, particularly B6 and B12 and folic acid.  So yes, it could be diet, and it also might not be.
