Getting off Zoloft

I have been on Zoloft off and on for about 8 years. Right now I am on 100mg a day. What is the best way to go off of Zoloft? My doctor is under the belief there is no withdrawel from it. I have fibromyalgia and I think it some what helps with pain, but that is not the reason why I started taking it. Thank you in advance.

I stopped for about 2 days and woke up today feeling like i had the flu. I quit once before and did not have much of a problem except for the the "zapping". This time is much harder. Whoever said that Zoloft is non addictive is a tart. Thanks for the information Andy!

In my case, there was a withdrawl from Zoloft - not as strong as other anti depressants I've been on, but you will notice some symptoms.  When I went off them, my doctor had me cut back:  100/50 mg alternate days, then 1-2 weeks later, I started alternating 50/25 mgs a day...1 week later, 25 mgs daily then off.  It helped with the general illness feelings of withdrawl.
