Going back to Celexa from St. John's

I tried taking St. John's Wort after discovering it through the MedHelp boards. I've been taking three 300mg pills daily. I feel slightly better, but it's just not working like I was hoping. I've decided to switch back to 10mg of Celexa, just to try it out, and I was wondering how I need to switch over from St. John's to Celexa. Is there a way I can switch over as soon as possible to try to avoid the first few weeks of side effects?

PS:
I also take Primrose Oil, just as you do (since I noticed your take P.O., from your other post).

I love my Primrose Oil ,just as you do, and it does NOT affect my Celexa at all.

However, the reason I take Primrose Oil is because it helps to keep my skin, nails and hair young.... AND since Celexa can cause skin problems, (in only some of us) I've found that the Primrose Oil takes care of skin problems for those of us taking CELEXA.

Hi,
I take it your're trying this out on your own right? just wondering....

Does your Doc know that you went off the Celexa, and tried the St.John's W,  and that now you're trying to get back ON the Celexa?

Just wondering again....

I'm on Celexa also by the way---for many years.

Like you, I was taken off the Celexa for a while (by my Doc) to try the St.JohnW, but unfortunately the SJW did not work for me either.

So then ,my Doc SLOWLY took me to get off that StJohnW, which I did.

Then , my Doc SLOWLY put me back on my Celexa. I went back to my regular 40mgs of Celexa, though very slowly,NOT quickly.

It went pretty smooth for me, however, as you can tell from my previous paragraphs, it took a while. It was NOT done FAST.  Therefore, I had no problems.

So I guess my suggestion is to contact your Doctor and tell him/her what you want to do, and have your Doctor guide you through the process again.

This is my opinion, OK., but I think it's important to work w/ your Doc, because that is the only way your Doc can document what works for your or not!

If your Doc has no documentation of your progress, then your Doc may not know what to do later on,  should your Celexa stop working in the future.
