HELP!!!!

by LisaAnn678, Feb 07, 2008 08:16PM
I am so sick.  Is it common to have panic attack while coming off of effexor?  I had the worst one last night and ended up in the emergency room.  I felt sick to my stomach, headache, dizzy, and then had a panic attack.  I am just hoping the attack came from being off of the effexor.  I weaned from 150-75-37.5 and I quit the 37.5 two days ago.  Now today, 2 days later, I had another major panic attack.  Plagued with negative thinking, fear, worry.  I started Prozac 3 wks ago and it should be in my system working somewhat but I dont' know where all of this anxiety is coming from.  I cant see real life anymore when Im feeling like this and I am thinking of anyway to get of out this feeling.  I need to know if the effexor could be doing this or if the prozac just isn't working or what.  Please help, Ive been trying to get better for 5 months and everytime I think I am coming out of it I get sucked back in.  IM SO TIRED!!!  My best friend called my psych tonight bc she is worried about me.  I dont know how much more I can take.

Effexor withdrawal is terrible...and if you go online to read the potential withdrawal symptoms you will see that a whole bunch of effects are possible.  I'm completely off Effexor since last week...8 days today...and I'm feeling better. Anxiety is one of the potential effects during withdrawal.

I've had clinical depression since ... who knows exactly... but more than 15 years. At one point I felt a lot like you describe. Stay close to your best friend...let folks who love you know how frightened you are...and please don't isolate yourself. If you can think of one good thing in your life, you have something to live for...and you have a best friend who contacted your doctor...that's something to live for.

"Earth's the right place for love" said Robert Frost. Sunrises are beautiful. The people who love you are reason enough to hold on...God bless you, B.
