puttputtnc: There are some medical studies out there suggesting long term oxycodone use can cause permament reduction of seratonin.. Would try to stay away from those :(
Santaslittlehelper: I have the same issues you do. I often have to drink coffee or one of those 5 hr energy drinks to get me moving for work.. I have major depression and anxiety as well and am taking cymbalta and lorazapam to keep me "functional" in society. I do hope things get better for you. Look into Cymbalta and Effexor if you havn't already. Good luck and God bless.
I have experienced the same thing, but I think In have found the answer,I started taking Oxycontin 3 years ago,40 Mg a day, kind of took the edge
off,now realize that several years of use of this drug can in a lot of
people cause depression,I have been tapering off and feel a lot better.
I've tried a lot things in the past CBT, counselling etc. they do work to some degree.
I have switched medication in the last few weeks, I'm on effexor now 2 weeks, I used to be on Lexapro. i don't know whether it just taking longer for the effexor to have an effect or not. Strangely I feel my anxiety has lowered i think, but on the badside I feel numb instead.
I have a doctors appointment again on wednesday, I'll see what she has to say.
Feeling numb is called 'blunted affect' and can be part of depression and many other disorders but since you don't have psychotic symptoms it looks like just another manifestation of depression.
I don't know about how the health system works in your country, but since this is really interfering with your functioning, you should probably find some kind of professional help. Try going to the doctor and asking about the options. He/she will have several people he could refer you to. I don't know about life coaches, we don't really have them in New Zealand. Maybe a counsellor, maybe you could consider treatment with drugs, maybe a psychologist of some sort to give you some coping mechanisms. Cognitive-Behavioural therapy in particular is very effective with most mental disorders and good counsellors and all psychologists are trained in it.
