If I get consistant sleep will get better?

So recently I've been having a really bad insomnia episode and for whatever reason when I finally get some sleep I feel worse. I'm wondering if I push through and get consistant long hours sleep will sleeping go back to helping me rather than making me worse?

I DO think it helps.  When you have a regular and good sleep pattern, you naturally feel better and more clear headed.  I would try to work on this.  If you are sleep deprived and you get a good night here and there, it may actually make you feel groggy.  I had a several month span of bad sleep due to a baby that just gave me a run for my money!  That literally took a year to recover.  And another time in my life more recently when my sleep pattern was off, I also took some time to feel good again after getting it on track.  

Do you take a multi vitamin too?  Exercise during the day?  this helps

one last thing, have you given up caffeine?  Or do you use caffeine during the day.  This contributes to my fatigue and how I feel.  I am at my best when I am mostly off caffeine.  When I slip in a pop during the day?  I feel exhausted at some point that same day.
