My boyfriend was put on Lexapro last year for depression because of family problems.  Is Lexapro addictive?         thanks   :)

You should never stop taking an anti-depressant cold turkey. You need to be weaned off.

I have never taken this medication, but have taken other anti depressants. They are not addictive.   you should not need to take higher and higher doses, also you should be able to give them up when the depression is over.  However I suppose you can become a bit dependant on them?  also there can sometimes be difficulty (like milder withdrawal symptoms) when giving them up.

Hope this helps
