Lexapo-weight gain/stopping meds

Does anyone know how long it takes for an Antidepressant to get out of your system after you completely stop taking it? I had begun to taper off, had cut my doseage down to 1/2 to 1/4 then I found out I was pregnant and stopped altogether. I ended up miscarrying but since I had already gone through about 2 weeks of the withdrawals I toughed it out and now the w/d symptoms are pretty much gone. I was on Lexapro 20 mg for 1.5 yrs then they bumped it up to 20 mg 2 x's per day which I disagreed with...did that for about 2 weeks then started tapering off. Since beginning the Lexapro I've gained almost 40 lbs. The year prior to starting it I had worked off 40 lbs of "after baby" weight and kept it off for several months until I started the Lexapro. How long till the medication is flushed out. I'm curious to find out if the weight gain is from the meds or not. My mom was on prozac for 10 yrs...she tapered off hers and lost 45 lbs...none of her eating habits changed or anything.

I thought I was the only one having problems with the weight gain And Effexor.. and I've also been taking it since 2003, and everytime Ive missed atleast 2 days or times that ive tried to stop taking it I get an OUT OF This WORLD feeling and it's AWEFUL!. Like my head is spinning, I'm crying and it's like I'm withdrawing from a drug or something. Which I never heard of there being a side effect like this. The Weight gain has been horrible Ive gained 60 lbs, then the dr put me on Topamax to help lose weight.. Worked I got thin as hell, then both those meds together made me CRAZY, I was paranoid, my back hurt all the time, And I would get angry, it also made me wanna go inpusle shopping stuff that I never did.. I DID. Anyways im off the topamax and the Dr is trying to wean me off the effexor .. Im glad I have a whole bottle he dont know about.. Because I HATE the withdrawls Of this Medicine!!! it's aweful if you arn't on it Dont start it, If you do Dont ever quit! Cuz this SUCKS!
