Lexapro and Weight Loss

In 2005 I had a Grand Mal Seizure.  Was diagnosed as Epileptic.  Started on Keppra.  Then in early 2006 had suicidal thoughts, anger, irrational behaviors, etc.  The docs took me off Keppra and put me on Lamictal.  I was also put on Lexapro (10mg) for suicidal thoughts.  A year later I got Stevens Johnsons Syndrome as a result of the Lamictal.  I was  then put on Lyrica which made me bloat and gain weight.  Then I was on Topamax.  I stopped all seizure meds in June of 2009 and am seizure free.  However, I just stopped taking Lexapro last week due to 10lb weight gain.  I am very active - just ran a 1/2 marathon and am planning another in June.  Lexapro increased my appetitie terribly.  How long does it take to get my metabolism back to normal?

Hi, I don't know the answer to your question but sorry to hear about the weight gain.  I am taking Lexapro now and was told that it shouldn't affect weight gain as much as the other SSRI's such as Paxil.  I'm feeling miserable though after switching from Paxil to Lexapro.  I'm thinking it could be withdrawel from the Paxil.  I was on 10mg Paxil doing well but experieince rapid heart beat episodes which was then diagnosed as inappropriate sinus tachycardia so my psychiatrist put me on Lexapro to see if it was the Paxil but now being on the Lexapro I am stil having those episodes.  I feel so sick on the Lexapro.  Did you feel good on the Lexapro?  are you having withdrawel from the Lexapro?  Thank you much.
