Effexor works well for many people. are you on it for depression or other reasons as well?
The med takes awhile to get into your system, so don't expect anything over night. If you find it's not the right drug by chance, do not stop it immediately, this drug you have to wean off gradually.

It's also really appreciated not posting questions in Caps, it's considered shouting in the cyber world.

If Norephinepherine Depletion in the brain is even a partial cause for your depression than Effexor XR can work wonders.

I took Effexor for 4 years (before it lost effectivness for me) and in that time it saved my life. Effexor is probably one of the best antidepressants on the market. It often works when SSRI drugs like Zoloft and Prozac fail.

Some people have a bad reaction to SNRI's like Effexor, but for many it works wonders.
You will hear stories about..."OMG, I had such bad withdrawl when I stopped Effexor."

I agree with that, but SSRI's like Lexapro, Zoloft, Paxil, in fact all of them produce withdrawl even with a slow taper. I can't think of one antidepressant that I switched that I had no withdrawls from.

Effexor has been around for 8 years. It is time tested and safe. It also happens to be the worlds #1 selling antidepressant of all time. You know why? Because it works. Not for everyone, because not everyone can tolerate it, but it works plain and simple.

It may not work forever, but it can work for a damn good long time at the right dosage.
