Major Depression and Anxiety

by BryantChase, May 23, 2008 01:00AM
I am 20 years old and I have been diagnosed with Major Depression Disorder about a year ago now. I began taking medication asap because I had attempted suicide just days before my doctors appt. For a little while after I started medication, it helped a lot. But soon it faded and I began taking higher and higher dosages. Now I am on my second or third different drug, still having to up the dosage every few weeks. It just seems like the depression is really breaking through lately and nothing helps it. I honestly can hardly function or be a productive person at all. I had to quit my job due in part to the illness nearly four months ago and haven't got another job since. I go off and on between being a severe insomniac to going to bed early and waking up quite early. My mind races 24/7 due to my overlapping anxiety disorder as well. Im never motivated to do anything. I barely even want to get up to eat sometimes. I just feel like im losing everything. I am dead broke now with many bills to pay, but I cant even imagine holding a job with these feelings. What can I do? Anyone with advice please help me out. Medication seemed to be the answer at first, but in the long run it is not helping a thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

we who suffer from depression and anxiety understand how you feel. i have'nt worked for 7 years, thank goodness my husband does. what meds have you tryed? you might need a combo of meds, ask your dr. about it. what about doing a job at home or maybe just a part time job until you start feeling better. are you taking anything for the anxiety? you might need an antianxiety drug and an antidepressant. i hope you start feeling better and keep posting here because i think it helps alot of us out knowing there are people like us out there that care. remar
