Its far more than just a matter of positive thinking. If someone is psychotic they need to follow up on treatment everyday in combination with talk therapy. Then they can begin to recover from schizophrenia which is brain based. However, their reintigration into society can be accomplished by many means and its important that there are means for them to support themselves and if they are capable of it work even part time and be a functional member of society. In the United States there are independent living centers:

Run by and for people with disabilities (that are not medical model but support the concept of following psychiatric treatment) and they are branching out to other countries. If there aren't any in India you could contact some of the ones here and ask how to get started. As well I myself am board president of a non profit that advocates for people with disabilities and could give you some contact information and I myself have schizoaffective disorder and am well recovered from schizoaffective disorder with an experimental treatment in FDA study, glycine part of a new class of antipsychotics the glutamate antagonists that when they are released as medications will be far more safer and effective and enable a full recovery for people with schizophrenia. The best thing I can tell you now is to advocate to help change the larger picture for people with schizophrenia and one great place to start is:
