Not sure if it's depression

Not sure if it's depression

I don't no if I am depressed or not.  I mean, I am depressed, but I don't know if I am clinically depressed and need help.  The fact is, the things that cause my depression really are environmental.  It seems like all of the people in my life are toxic, and nothing I do goes right.  Everything, and I mean everything blows up in my face.  And it is all the time.  From things like grocery bags busting in the parking lot, to car accidents if it can go wrong in my life it does.  I can't seem to catch a break, and so I really am sad about all of the crappy things that happen to me, but I don't know if I am actually depressed - I don't know if I need medication or not.  Is there something I can take as needed, for the high tension days, or do I have to take a pill everyday for depression, and what if I really am not depressed, what if I really do have that crappy of a life?  What do I do, who do I talk to.  I just want something to go right, I just want to feel better.  Please help, somebody, anybody.

Clinical depression can be pretty severe and is there even when you don't have logical reason to be depressed at the time. Whether you have clinical depression or not though, it'd be good to take some steps to help your depression. You know yourself best, so how big of steps is completely up to you and what you think you need. I think anti-depressants are typically taken everyday and you're not supposed to stop them suddenly. So maybe those aren't right for you, especially as they can occasionally have bad side-affects. There's always the option of therapy too of course. But there's some simpler, smaller things that can help with depression. They wouldn't get rid of it of course, but they'd distract from it or help put you in a better mood.

First off, if you don't have someone to talk to about it, you should find someone right away. Even if they can't really help make your situation any better, having someone to listen can make a big difference. If I have things on my mind that I don't tell anyone, I find myself thinking about it all night.

Also, if there's something you know makes you feel better, then do it. Personally if I'm extremely upset, I do things such as take a bath, chat with a friend, do one of my favorite hobbies or try to sleep it off.

And similar to that, a great idea is to find a new interest. Even my severe depression can lighten up for nearly a month when I find something new to be excited over.

Hope at least some of this helped, feel better~
