OFF LEXAPRO & EXPERIENCING CONSTANT SALTY TASTE IN MOUTH

Hi,
I slow tapered ( 6 months ) completely off 30 mg. of Lexapro. I don't feel very depressed at all most of the time. However about 2 weeks after my last dose of Lexapro on June 26, 2007, I could not taste or smell food, drinks, etc... In fact everything I put in my mouth ( including bottled water ) tasted horrible. First I had a metallic taste in my mouth and that lasted about a week. Now it's a constant taste of very salty. It feels like I'm in the ocean drinking salt water all the time. I also have more saliva in my mouth than before since I lost my sense of taste and smell along with the salty taste. This is very upsetting to me and makes me depressed, not the fact that I'm not taking Lexapro. Is this a commom side effect after being off of Lexapro ? Is there something I need to do ? Any certain supplements I should be taking ? If this is a post-Lexapro side effect, does it go away with time ?

Has anyone else experienced this ? Thanks so much ! GOD BLESS !

~Alice~

Wow, I have been having this problem as well.... the salty taste in the saliva.  I heard it has to do with being dehydrated too.  Drink a lot more water.
